Most Excel passwords can be recovered instantly. "Password to open" for Excel 97 and Excel 2000, however, requires time-consuming brute-force and dictionary attacks; in AE2000PR they're effectively optimized for speed: about five million passwords per minute (but please don't expect to recover long passwords, i.e. 8 characters or more, in a reasonable time).
